When I owned a Metal Zone, I felt like it was a crap pedal, and I loved playing metal back then. Maybe I had a crap pedal, maybe I did not know how to use it. To me, the EVH 5150 is easier to use. Maybe a great tone can be found from the Metal Zone (not sure how many versions they made of it), but it might take you some time to find it.

I played a metal zone for years and years and years and even tried the Waza when it came out (into a Carvin 100w). now I am using an amptweaker fat metal (into a Marshall 100w) Much wider sweet spot, easier to dial in the sound i want, fuller low mids, seperate gain/volume boost with optional mid boost on the pro model.Boss Metal Zone is probably the easiest to get you something like that. . But seriously there are so many options that give you metal in a box. . i love my metal muff. should be relabeled as best all around distortion box around. its not as metal as one would think . cause u can really tame it down . used it all the time in punk band. but when its time to shred it gets u there too. the eq is nice. i have a mxr full bore metal and its great but it gets out of hand. the only thing i wash the muff had was a gate and mid cut like the mxr .I’m in the market for a tube combo amp and I’ve got my eyes on these two in particular. My tastes fall into blues-rock, classic rock, hard rock, and heavy metal. I’ve played the DSL40CR a number of times at shops and liked what it has to offer.
