Feels great to have a good grip on there. Problem is, just under that, is a massive honeycomb across the entire back of the machine. Which, by its very nature is weak. At least on the 15 - it just feels thin. Of course, as I said above, I am coming from an Alienware with a metal chassis, and an (albeit thin) metal honeycomb in that same location.

The 2022 Legion 5 is metal chassis as well. Its actually lil better than the Pro as the Legion 5 exhaust is part of the body like on Legion 7 and its metal. The Pro has the exhaust made of plastic. The 16:10 and 500nit screen is really only the difference. The Legion 5 has also QHD but its 300 nit and 16:9. The GPU has 10W on the Pro.
Got my Lenovo Legion 7 yesterday (Intel i7-11800H, 16x2 GB Ram, RTX 3070. This laptop is awesome, works like a charm, screen is beautiful, everything is so fast. But the chasis gets super hot (especially the upper part of the bottm portion, right around the power button and the top of the keyboard).Same temps as liquid metal! (Probably due to die size) (or not enough liquid metal). However, temps for GPU when overclocked about 70-75C. CPU defo needs LM because it just gets hot quick. CPU is around 70-75C as well now, so both well within their thermal design about 25-30c away from throttling now.Lenovo Legion 5i has a plastic chassis and fingerprint and oil are hardly visible. It's also very easy to clean it. The "Phantom Black" color is really a dark grey. Winner: Lenovo Legion 5i because I like the finish on the plastic chassis better .

Hi all - Just received a brand new Legion Slim 7 Gen8 (AMD) and right out of the box I noticed small dents in the rear hinge bar/cover. It looks like this may be due to the pressure used during assembly as there are a few running across this piece.Well the one I have is definitely better build quality than the legion 5 I have. It’s full metal chassis, mechanical keyboard, bigger better trackpad etc. there’s not much if anything better on the legion. . My Lenovo Legion Y720 suffered so many abuses and yet remained strong, I still have to see more durable laptops than that. .It was my third legion first was legion 5 2020 with i5 10300h and rtx 2060 second was legion 5 2020 ryzen 5 4600h and rtx 2060. Both were loud as this legion 5 pro no matter what. Only that legion 5 2020 with intel after unlocking undervolt was quiet enough but i had to RMA it 2x for high temps. And on third i got that ryzen one.
